After many months of work Hoffi Limited, Cardiff based branding and digital agency have launched National Theatre Wales (NTW) www.nationaltheatrewales.org destination website attracting over 3,200 visits in the first two days. The site was launched in conjunction with the announcement of NTW's programme of events for the next 12 months.
Hoffi were awarded the project in July and have been working with NTW and it's existing community to bring a destination website which provides a platform for production information, as well as pooling further content in from the wider online community that has been nurtured by NTW and social media specialists Native. With this in mind the website was developed through the use of the open source content management platform, Drupal.
"NTW and their team had already managed to create an online community with over 1,000 active members. We felt it was amazingly important that we should bring this into the site and incorporate it with general event information. The whole project has been hugely collaborative and something that has been a refreshing change within Cardiff. With this in mind it seemed perfect to use Drupal as the system that NTW's website would be built with... " said Andrew Thomas Technical Director of Hoffi Limited.
Drupal relies on the collaboration of thousands of developers worldwide and working together to create a great piece of core software and supported by a multitude of Modules to for everyone’s benefit.
The launch of the destination website has already seen great feedback and it is hoped that it will continue to develop and grow in richness as the events get nearer. Julian Sykes Creative Director of Hoffi Limited, commented: "The initial response has been very positive, now it is a case of making the site a true 'destination' for people to experience NTW, and it's forthcoming year".
Artistic director of NTW John E McGrath also commented "Hoffi took a complex brief - a new national theatre company with strong ideas about it's identity, a pre-existing social network and a graphic design team on board - and managed to do something that was uniquely imaginative while clearly in step with the decisions already in place."
Collaboration shone through on the project both directly with NTW and through the tools used, Hoffi now believe that their relationships with the team will grow stronger and their experiences can be past back into the Drupal community.
