Millennium is founding member of a new mature marketing network
Advertising agency Millennium announces the launch of a global organisation which will promote marketing to older generations, including the influential ‘Baby Boomer’ generation.
Millennium will join forces with other marketing agencies and think tanks from across the globe. Capitalising on its unparalleled over 50s expertise, Millennium is the only UK agency currently a member of the International Mature Marketing Network, or IMMN, pronounced ‘I’m in’.
With the aim to build a body of expertise surrounding the consumer needs of the Baby Boomer generation, a highly lucrative but often-overlooked consumer base, Millennium will share information, research, case studies and sector knowledge with co-members, exploiting the commonalities present in many Baby Boomers across the globe.
Traditionally, marketing to the over 50s has failed to make a significant impact, based on lack of knowledge of this age bracket. IMMN will share information and articulate consumer common global behaviour amongst this influential segment of ‘over 40s’ born before 1964.
Kevin Lavery (pictured), Creative Executive Director, Millennium, said: “I am absolutely delighted to announce the launch of IMMN today and equally pleased to say that Millennium is a founding member.
“The Baby Boomer generation and the over 50s in general represent a growing segment of our society. By 2020, over 50% of the UK population will be at least 50 years old and we want to capitalise on the opportunities that this will provide.
“The aim of founding IMMN is not only to underline our credentials in marketing to this ‘forgotten generation’ but also raise awareness, with our global partners, of what can be done to tap into this vast resource across the globe.
“Members will have a say in the content of IMMN publications, the opportunity to act as spokespeople on industry issues in the media and also the chance to take speaking slots at appropriate conferences and events.”
Current members of IMMN are:
Millennium – (agency) UK
Evergreen – (agency) Australia
thirdgear – (agency) US
Age Lessons – (Consultancy/think tank) US
Reilly Group – (consultancy) US
Creating Results – (strategic marketing/ advertising) US
