Disappear Here is a youth culture magazine launched by James Brown and edited by Peaches Geldof. It features music, film, fashion, art and all areas of popular culture. It is a blank canvas for young writers, photographers, illustrators, bands, artists and designers. The limited edition issue zero is available in selected record shops, bars, boutiques and clubs throughout London and New York. You can also guarantee a copy by ordering here.
The brief was to create a fun, energetic and colourful fanzine. This gave me the freedom to disregard strict grids and guidelines. Column widths vary throughout and typefaces alternate and are often manipulated or hand drawn.
Each new issue will retain some stylistic and typographic elements from the issue before, keeping a recognisable visual chain, but the greater part of the magazine will purposely look quite different. In this way, issue three will echo issue two but will look quite different to issue one.
In issue zero there are some excellent visual contributors including:
Alex Trochut (cover illustration)
Ivan Jones (Billy Childish photography)
Mary McCartney (Vivienne Westwood photography)
Jørn Tomter (Norwegian Way photo essay) and
Ross Holden who kick starts our ‘Drew Barrymore’ section, where we print readers image submissions of the tv personality Michael Barrymore.
