The viral, ‘Murphy’s Airport Parking’, can be viewed below, sees infamous comic Paul Kaye take the role of Seamus Murphy – a hard-drinking, hard-talking rogue trader.
In contrast to the service offered by Holiday Extras, who provide quality hotel and holiday parking across the UK, Seamus runs the budget, and less-reputable, version of a secure holiday car park.
Shot on location in Cheshire with production coordinated by the Pie Factory’s Just Shoots, the 90-second clip is the first from the recently launched viral arm of Flame Digital. It also represents the agency’s first collaboration with Holiday Extras, which joins its already extensive travel portfolio.
Flame Digital’s online PR division will be coordinating the viral marketing and seeding alongside London-based 7th Chamber network.
In addition to the viral, Flame Digital has also created a bespoke page for Seamus Murphy’s car park on the Holiday Extras site where visitors can win props from the set and will soon be able to see outtakes and enjoy other Seamus related goodies.
Matthew Pack, web and marketing director at Holiday Extras, said: “With this viral, we wanted to show viewers the opposite end of the scale to the Holiday Extras offering. Where we offer quality and personal service, we wanted to contrast that with disorder and rudeness. Getting Paul Kaye on board was a real coup and we are anticipating that the results will generate widespread views and debate.”
Dom Rodwell, creative director of Flame Digital, said: “The Holiday Extras viral has been a fantastic first project for the viral department. The combination of Paul Kaye, the great script and belief from the Holiday Extras marketing team means we have produced a piece of brand collateral that people will be talking about for months.”
