Ogilvy action expands its global travel retail division with two top flight appointments

Retail communication expert Charlie Mitchell-Heggs (pictured) is the new head of Ogilvy Action’s Global Travel Retail (GTR) division.

He brings with him years of global brand-building experience working in retail environments across the world and running his own Dubai-based TTL agency.

Ogilvy Action has also appointed Grant Channer as senior account director to its GTR division, which now also benefits from the expertise of trade strategist Mario Coletti, who joined the agency in November 2006 and who will provide support for the division.

Channer is an award winning marketer (DMA silver for Bailey’s CRM campaign) with multi-discipline experience in developing enduring campaigns for top brands, both in the UK and internationally. Agency experience includes Haygarth Group, CDP, Pepper, TBWA-GGT (stationed in the UK and then transferred to Australia), and immediately prior to joining Ogilvy Action he worked at Chemistry.

Mitchell-Heggs will lead a global team in 4 regional hubs developing brand communication and changing consumer behaviour in the travel retail channel.

“This is a unique organization, combining a deep understanding of how to engage and communicate with consumers in the channel, as well as implement across multiple formats and touchpoints in a highly complex and dynamic environment,” says Mitchell-Heggs.

Ogilvy Action recognises GTR’s strength in actively building global brands and that ultimately this brand awareness has the potential to transform itself into domestic market sales. To seize on this opportunity it is developing a specialist team to service clients in this channel.

Steve Harding, CEO (EMEA) Ogilvy Action, said: “We are delighted to welcome two specialists who understand the airport environment as an experiential playground for the modern consumer and the key role GTR can play in building brands at home and abroad.”
