This popular five day course is designed to enable existing Dreamweaver users with no previous programming or database skills to build powerful, dynamic web applications quickly and easily.
The course has been designed for visual web designers, content managers and web application developers who wish to create data-driven websites. As this course is only offered on an individual tuition or private company basis, it can be tailored to your exact requirements. In reality, most companies use this course to build their own data-driven website allowing them to combine real development work with the reassurance of professional help and tuition.
As this course is tailored to your requirements, the content of each day may vary. A typical course structure would be:
[b]Day one:[/b] Building a database or adapting your existing database.
[b]Day two:[/b] Developing your database skills, allowing you to query databases for information. You will learn how to hand code statements giving you the ability to query your database from within Adobe Dreamweaver.
[b]Day three:[/b] An introduction to Server Scripting (using ASP, Coldfusion or PHP depending upon your requirements - please call if you have any questions regarding the appropriate technology to use).You will cover the concepts behind Server Scripting and how to use these skills to create intuitive websites.
[b]Days four and five:[/b] Using Adobe Dreamweaver to develop dynamic content. You will cover how to link Dreamweaver built sites to the most commonly used professional databases. This allows site content to be easily updated 'on the fly' and allows you to build powerful database-driven sites for dynamic data publishing and e-commerce solutions.
Although this is a five day course, we can run a shortened version if you are already confident with some of the topics or if they are not relevant to your project. The course does not need to be run on five consecutive days, many clients find it beneficial to split the course over two or three weeks to allow them to work on their website between training sessions.

DAYS FOUR AND FIVE: using Dreamweaver to work with dynamic content • Planning your site architecture • Defining local and remote sites • Creating page templates • Building a search page, a results page, a detail page, an insert page and an update page • Setting Server behaviours • Adding dynamic content • The data bindings inspector • Publishing and testing your site
