Bakehouse, the European pastry specialists, briefed Torch to redesign their website. The key objectives were to increase accessibility for smartphone and tablet users, and to maintain interaction and participation with their customers, whilst reducing their reliance on Flash.
The new site was developed using CMS to allow Bakehouse to continually maintain and update their content, keeping the site fresh and appealing to ensure customers come back to it. Updated news, press releases and information are also filtered through a live feed to Twitter and YouTube, to further enhance interaction and use social media to spread the message. Tools on the website include a seasonal guide to promotions, taking customers through sales peaks for different products throughout the year depending on the occasion, and an interactive game to ‘bake your own doughnut’, with prizes for the best bun.
