The Hub promote safe sex

The Hub has completed a public awareness campaign for the NHS aimed at reducing numbers of young people having unprotected sex after a night out drinking.

 

The Lancashire-based agency beat of competition from rival agencies following a three-way pitch in November last year with a concept based on the line ‘Get it on!’. The various executions include images of young couples ‘getting it on’ in pubs, clubs and at parties and feature a condom tacked to the image with the words ‘Get it on’ scribbled across the packet.

 

The campaign was rolled out across the Christmas and New Year period through a combination of outdoor, posters, radio and 20,000 giveaway condoms, and is now being presented to Primary Care Trusts throughout the region to use in their own areas.

 

“This was an excellent brief”, said Helen Johnson, Managing Director at The Hub. “The audience and subject matter allowed us to be quite cheeky with a message that is essentially very serious. We had a lot of fun bouncing ideas around at the pitch stage and are looking forward to developing a complimentary campaign for the summer.”
