Digital agency STAR Digital and technological innovators Honeywell have collaborated to develop an app which enables the intelligent control of home lighting from anywhere in the world.

Developed by STAR Digital, the MK astral ™ app provides users with sophisticated, versatile and totally unique lighting control. From the palm of the hand, it’s possible to adjust the intensity or dimness of light in every room to create the desired atmosphere for your home.

With the ability to save ‘scenes’ for any occasion, whether it’s coming home, entertaining or having a quiet night in, turning your house from a bright airy space to a cosy retreat can be done at the flick of a switch, wherever you are.

To promote the new technology and innovative app, STAR Digital launched the MK astral ™ marketing web site which boasts a number of engaging features via an interactive iPhone, visible at various points throughout the site. Demonstrating the app in-situ, the home page allows you to click-and-drag the sliders to adjust various sources of light in a CGI kitchen.

But it’s the dissection of the CGI MK astral ™ house which presents the most exciting opportunity for users to explore Honeywell’s new concept in simulated reality. An exact replica of the app on a moveable iPhone can be interacted with to completely personalise the house’s pre-set ‘scenes’, create new ones and customise the natural outdoor light to mimic the real experience of this ground-breaking lighting system.
