Founding partner of Spinnaker – a creative agency rooted in the interlinking worlds of direct and digital marketing. I am passionate about marketing that delivers a tangible return and developing truly engaging and creative content. Beyond my agency professional life you may also find me at Stamford Bridge, cooking a mean curry or, riding down a hill on a mountain bike.
What does ‘creative’ mean to you?
It may raise a smile, force a tear, elicit surprise, shock or delight. But you can be guaranteed that a truly ‘creative’ idea will always make you look at things from a different perspective.
Best piece of business advice?
When you’ve come up with a business strategy always look to people who can challenge you on it. You may have thought your strategy was brilliant in the first place but it will always end up stronger after consultation.
Who do you admire?
Aung San Suu Kyi. She has stood up for what she believed in with honesty, bravery, and great humility.
What could be done better?
In our industry ... more thought and creativity applied to content within social. Too much is for its own sake and never what the consumer is going to engage with in a million years.
In society right now ... an education system that truly looks at individuals rather than just trying to deliver positive statistics.
Where will you be in ten years’ time?
Sitting on a beach in Cornwall having a picnic with my wife.
