RAM Kitchens and STAR Digital reinvent kitchen design online

Tradition meets innovation; RAM Kitchens and STAR Digital pair up to create a glossy, online kitchen design tool and iPad app.

Immersed in elegance, quality and heritage, RAM Kitchens sought a new web site and app to represent their assets in a fresh, contemporary way to bring them back to the frontage of kitchen design.

The embodiment of traditional values and timeless style, RAM Kitchens paired up with STAR Digital to develop a web site to reflect their brand. An innovative digital marketing agency set in the rural suburbs of Northamptonshire, it was a fitting partnership when combining classic ideas with creative vision.

The result of the pairing was a glossy, catalogue web site with an emphasis on striking imagery, consumer interaction, inspiration and outstanding digital design, its key feature being the novel Kitchen Designer Tool.

This designer tool provides an inventive space for RAM’s users to create their own exclusive kitchen. With over 240,000 possible variations, RAM’s customers can tweak almost any aspect of their design, from work surface to handle, and see a CGI interpretation of their vision evolve as they fancy.

Traditionally a concept that would be built using Flash, STAR Digital developed the Kitchen Designer using jQuery. Combined with CGI graphics, it is a method that has enabled the tool to work perfectly across platforms, including mobile and tablet devices.

STAR Digital also developed the tool as part of an Apple iPad app, creating an exciting sales tool for use in a showroom environment and by users at home. Features include the full designer tool and the ability to send a design via email or share on Facebook.

Since its launch in January, the app has gained almost 1,000 downloads.

Star Digital Win RAR Awards!
