The Assembly Studios designed interactive iPad 3D model for Manchester Airport City goes on display from 28th June to 25th July as part of the 'superMODELS' exhibition in Liverpool.
Never seen before, this bespoke iPad 3D presentation was created with a revolutionary Perspex overlay to help communicate the vision for Airport City Manchester, a £650m commercial property development totalling over 4m sq.ft.
A contemporary take on the traditional architects' model, the iPad 3D enables users to understand the various product categories and associated benefits through the use of an animated, back lit presentation. This innovative, flexible and cost-effective use of technology brings Airport City to life in a format easily transported and controlled by users.
Architectural models have always held a key role in the communication of architecture, whether utilized as a medium to explore design ideas or in the marketing of large scale regeneration projects. Despite the advent of sophisticated computer modelling software, architectural models continue to captivate and intrigue both professionals and the general public in equal measure.
To celebrate this RIBA North West has brought together a number of models from across the region to exhibit their most evocative architectural models that best of the region's models.
The 'superMODELS' exhibition runs from 28 June - 25 July on the third floor of The Home Quarter, Liverpool ONE.
