Newly formed production specialist, Gutenberg Networks, has announced former founding partner of Salt, Simon Steel, as its business development director.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Steel will play a pivotal role in developing its new business strategy.
As founding partner of value management consultancy Salt, Steel provided clients, including Merck Schering Plough, ISBA and BMI Healthcare, with pivotal value management insights and expertise.
Prior to launching Salt, Steel worked across both Saatchi & Saatchi and TfG for 11 years. In 1998 he joined Saatchi & Saatchi Design, quickly progressing to managing director. During this time he worked with clients as diverse as Guinness, Royal Navy, Toyota and Transport for London.
In 2003, Steel moved across to TfG as group managing director driving structural change through all areas of the TfG group businesses and joined the Operational Board at Saatchi & Saatchi in 2005.
In 2008 Steel became CEO of TfG and Mundocom UK. During this time he managed and re-structured the transition of the TfG business into Mundocom, Publicis Groupe’s new global pre-media platform.
Jon Goulding, CEO at Gutenberg Networks, said: “Simon has a comprehensive understanding of the issues that face our business sector and that drive change. With him on board we are uniquely placed to provide clients with intelligent, efficient answers to their business needs across the entire marketing supply chain.”
Steel added: “As part of the senior management team I will have the opportunity to help clients understand the changing production landscape and this rapidly developing business sector. The current marketplace is still relatively fragmented and much of its work poorly understood. Our new UK hub will clarify the impact we can have and the value we add.”
