South West agency Mr B & Friends goes from strength to strength....
Simon Barbato, founder and CEO of Bath-based brand, digital, marketing and creative agency Mr B & Friends, has been named Institute of Directors South West Director of the Year. Simon launched the agency in his bedroom 10 years ago and today it is one of the fastest-growing in the region. The company now employs 39 people having doubled its staff over past three years and has a portfolio of blue-chip clients such as Intercontinental Hotel Group, Principality Building Society, Unite Students and SSE.
The South West’s IoD Director Awards seek to highlight and celebrate outstanding business people across the region, bringing the enterprise community together and focusing UK-wide attention on South West success. Judges praised Simon for his strong entrepreneurial approach and progressive risk-taking and they singled out his investment in both people and process, led by a true passion for the brand.
Mr B & Friends has cemented a reputation for producing outstanding work across the UK and beyond and had returned 48% growth over the last 12 months as well as topping the RAR (Recommended Agency Register) tables in terms of client satisfaction.
Simon Barbato comments, “I’m delighted to receive such a prestigious accolade from the IoD. This has been a great period for us and in our last financial year Mr B & Friends achieved significant growth in revenue with major client wins such as Principality, Intercontinental Hotel Group and Victoria Hall. As a result the head count at the agency has soared to 39 people in total including a creative team of 15 staff. The agency also recently secured 2nd place for UK agency performance in The Drum’s 2016 Design Census, and was placed amongst the top 15 independents in the UK for client satisfaction. The combination of which resulted in Mr B & Friends being ranked as one of the UK’s top 10 independent agencies and named as an ‘Elite’ agency, with a joint 6th position.
Brand consultancy Mr B & Friends have completed a repositioning and rebranding programme for Azzurri Communications, the £100 million technology, communications and managed services company.
