CADA Design Group was briefed to create an enchanting emporium for Dean & Deluca representing the spirit of their original Soho (New York) store, transposed into a larger format at the Villagio Mall in Doha, Qatar. CADA worked with M.H. Alshaya Co., a Dean & Deluca franchisee, to leverage the gourmet food purveyor’s existing brand attributes — clean, modern, neo-industrial.
The new concept needed to reflect the brand’s ethos of an experience that all of the pleasures of cooking, shopping and eating can bring in a delightful and contemporary environment. CADA was asked to modernise the interior identity of Dean & Deluca, whilst adhering to the commercial needs of the store and the heritage of the brand. Our focus was on creating beautiful platforms to display the gourmet foods and products in abundance.
The central ethos was to create a theatre for the product in which it took centre stage. The neo-industrial style of stainless steel units and exposed infrastructure juxtaposes with luxurious marble flooring and glass cases. The contrast between the core interior elements and the colourful groceries and product displays creates a dramatic setting that enhances the visual arrangements.
The size of the site is approximately 20,000 sq. ft not including back of house areas and retails a range of gourmet foods, baked goods, kitchen ware, groceries, fish & meats, cheeses and beverages. David Callcott founder director of CADA Design Group comments “Our clients come to us for creative solutions based on sound commercial experience and we are delighted to be associated with premium retailers such as Alshaya Co. and Dean & Deluca”.
