Anthem Worldwide wins awards of its work with Safeway

Anthem Worldwide wins silver, bronze and award of excellence recognising creative excellence in packaging design Zoom

Anthem Worldwide, the brand development division of Schawk (NYSE: SGK), whose integrated global network provides innovative solutions to articulate, unify and manage brand impact to create compelling and consistent brand experiences, announced that it has been recognised with three packaging design awards acknowledging creative excellence.

Anthem received a Silver Pentaward for its packaging design of Safeway brands’ The Snack Artist and a Bronze Pentaward for Safeway brands’ Refreshe, officially awarded September 29, 2011, in New York City. Additionally, The Snack Artist packaging received a Communications Arts (CA) Award of Excellence.

Tom Holownia, managing director of Anthem Worldwide’s San Francisco office commented, “We believe that our work for Safeway brands’ The Snack Artist and Refreshe, which were singled out for creative excellence in the prestigious global Pentawards and coveted Communication Arts Design Annual competitions, signify that, beyond creating great design, Anthem is helping its clients meet some of the greatest challenges that brands are facing today to win the battle at shelf.”

The Pentawards Worldwide Packaging Design Competition is the only annual major world competition devoted exclusively to package design. Winners are selected by a jury of 12 packaging design professionals from leading branding, marketing and design agencies around the world. Winning designs will be exhibited in Paris in the exclusive and renowned DesignPack Gallery and published by TASCHEN in a book that will be available in 2012.

For more than five decades, CA has published the best in visual communications from around the world. The CA Design Annual is considered one of the most prestigious juried competitions, and CA’s Award of Excellence is one of the most envied awards in the industry. Winners are selected by a nationally representative panel of distinguished visual communicators. The 2011 panel of nine jurors selected 174 winning projects from 4,291 entries.
