Long term Rainbow Trust Patron Jack Gratton will be locked up in a cage in the middle of Paddington Station tasked to raise £50,000 for his release.

£50,000 needed to release man from Paddington Station Cage Zoom

Jack, who runs recruitment agency Major Players, will spend Thursday 28 June from 9am locked in the cage with access only to his phone to drum up support by emailing, calling, texting and using Twitter.

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. It has been celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and Jack’s stunt will bring the celebrations to an end.

£50,000 will pay for seven Rainbow Trust Family Support vehicles for a whole year. These vehicles are a vital support for the families Rainbow Trust supports. Families like the Da Silva’s. Joycie Da Silva was diagnosed from birth with a condition that affects her nervous system. Mum Ana needed to take Joycie to regular hospital appointments, but also needed to take and pick up her other son Zion from school and she didn’t have a car. Rainbow Trust was able to pick up Zion when mum was in hospital and also make sure Joycie never missed a vital appointment.

Jack is urging people to get him out of the cage as soon as possible: “It’s not that I don’t want to spend a long time in the cage, I just really want to raise this much needed £50,000 for Rainbow Trust as soon as possible. I’ve supported the charity for a long time and met some of the families first hand and they all talk about how their lives had been turned upside down by their child’s illness but they managed to cope because of Rainbow Trust. I wanted to do something unusual for this special charity’s 25th celebrations.”
