Whilst zooming in to the rooflines of the new housing estate at the back of my house, using a 75-300 mm telephoto lens, the South Yorkshire police helicopter suddenly appeared overhead.

With no time to adjust the camera settings and with the autofocus engaged, I managed to take 3 shots as it flew off into the distance, all of which came out with the helicopter in sharp focus. Over the last few weeks, I have been experimenting with monochrome and a red filter to capture some dramatic April skies and this is one of my very favourites.
