Description

Jonathan Chadwick is the Artistic Type - an independent illustrator and graphic designer with nineteen years experience. I'm driven by a traditional, artisan approach to illustration and design keen that these values survive in the modern age. My portfolio demonstrates this through engraving style, black and white line illustrations, which I later combine with contemporary elements, textures and type. My work is ideally suited to clients who require a traditional, classic, design solution with an edge. I typically receive editorial, packaging, signage and stained glass illustration commissions. My graphic design work includes logo's, branding, book and layout design and large format mural / wallpaper artwork. Being independent, I'm available to work collaboratively on projects such as audio visual, website and retail or theatre set design. Based in Macclesfield, I freelance across the Cheshire area and occasionally guest lecture at art and design institutions throughout the Northwest. Door to door, I can travel from my studio to London Euston in under 2 hours so I'm well located for meetings further afield. Whilst practising commercially, I've also completed a Masters Degree in Art & Design Direction with the Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art & Design (MIRIAD). I am currently considering a practice lead research PhD.
