OUCH Self-Promotion Button Badges

Summary
Three dimensional typography created to showcase the 'Sarah France gave me this'* badge. With the colour of the badges and the notion of a pin prick, i decided the best approach was to create the word 'OUCH.'** *The Word OUCH typography was inspired by ITC Avant Garde.
**The 'Sarah France gave me this' typography is EstaPro by DStype.
How was this achieved? After receiving my badges from print, i bought a white canvas and placed the badges on top, leaving a clear background. I did not take this shot in a studio, i did however in our conservatory. Closing all the curtains and taking the photograph at mid-day enabled a retro edge to the photograph the conservatory has a plastic orange tinted roof. Why showcase the badges in this way? Presenting these badges as a simple scattered piece would not have the same impact and attitude as the existing design. I also adore environmental typography, so by creating this visual presentation only adds to my personality as a graphic designer.
