The Butterfly and the Crane This image was made on my return from a recent trip to China.
In Beijing and Shanghai the huge skyscrapers and other signs of mass modernisation are just a smoke screen. Underlying everyday life is thousands of years of mythology, history and superstition.
Cranes and butterflies are symbols of longevity in the Chinese culture.
In PS I flipped a copy of the image to make it look like one of the butterfly paintings we once created as children.
In addition to the commercial work I shot whilst in China I shall be exhibiting a selection of personal work later this year.
